The Nintendo Entertainment System (Famicom in Japan) is by no doubt the
coolest console on this planet.
 No console has ever got to be _THE_ leader of the console market,
except for the NES.
 The NES was first seen at the American Consumer Electronics Show in June
of 1985. Nobody liked it much. But soon all would kneel before the
Nintendo Entertainment System.
 It was slow going, but eventially the machine took off across America.
By the end of 1986 one million systems had been sold in the US, and the
demand for the NES was growing - thanks, at least partly, to its killer
game, a spot-on conversion of Shigeru Miyamoto's Super Mario Bros.

The reason why the name of this page is Nintendo and not NES is because
as kids we called it the Nintendo instead of the NES.

On this page I have two Nintendo games to be played on a NES emulator.
I recommend either NESticle (DOS & Windows 95) or iNES (Windows).
The games are packed in iNES format so they work on both of those, but
if you wan't to use an emulator such as Pasofami you'll have to convert
them.

The two games are:  Super Mario Bros & Tennis
                    I added SMB because I think that it's still the best
                    game today, and I added Tennis because it's fun
                    and it doesn't take up much of my hd space which I
                    don't have too much of.

I have two documentations on this page, both of them are in .TXT format
but I had to pkzip them because they took too much hd space as .TXT
files.

The NES documentation by Yoshi is very long and detailed + well made but
it is quite boring for us "normal" people to read. But if you are
intrested in the NES technically please download it.

The info about the legality of distributing Nintendo's roms is quite
good to know if you are planning on putting up an emulation site or bbs.
There has been a lot of talk about disclaimers that make it legal etc,
but none of those are true. The truth is that you shouldn't distribute
them in any way at all. Download the file for more information.

EmulWorld                             This place has all of the newest
                                      emulators for most platforms and
                                      a few roms plus many links to rom

Nintendo of America                   The homepage of Nintendo, has lots
                                      of information about the new
                                      products of Nintendo and some info
                                      about the old ones such as the NES.

Mario Emulation                       This place has all the NES games
                                      with Mario in them and tons of
                                      mario hacks.

One Stop NES Emulation Shop           Lots of hacked NES roms and quality
                                      links to the best emulation places.
